This special event is part of the Florida Memorial University's Inaugural Art & Book Festival, a vibrant two-day celebration of literature, arts, and culture happening on March 14-15, 2025.

About the Book

Dr. Jennings' book, Ethan’s Good Dad Act, is a heartfelt account of his journey navigating fatherhood challenges after the mother of his child denied him co-parenting rights. His perseverance and advocacy led to the historic passage of House Bill #775, known as Ethan’s Good Dad Act (Parental Responsibility After The Determination of Paternity), granting unwed fathers equal rights to their children in Florida. The law, which went into effect on July 1, 2023, has set a precedent for similar legislation in states across the country.

Thanks to his efforts, similar legislation has passed in New Jersey and Missouri, with 16 other states actively considering comparable laws, including New York, Alabama, Arizona, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, North Carolina, Georgia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
